Pit-Type Furnace
A vertical-loading pit furnace for long shafts, rods, tubes and dies that cannot go into a box furnace — the charge stands in the chamber and the lid lifts clear with an electric hoist.
Pit-Type Furnace
Some workpieces will not go into a box furnace no matter how the door is arranged: long shafts, tie bars, tubes, deep dies and bolts in baskets. Those are the parts a pit furnace is made for.
The charge is loaded vertically through a top opening and stands in the chamber with heating elements around it, so heat arrives from all sides instead of from above and below only. The lid is lifted clear — by the electric hoist on larger builds — before loading starts.
Pit furnaces are always built to order, because the only dimensions that matter are the ones of your workpiece. Give us the part size, the basket arrangement, the process temperature and the power supply, and we will size the chamber and the power.

What you are buying
Loading that suits the part
Long parts go in standing up: no bending under their own weight, no half-in half-out loading.
Heat from all sides
Elements around the chamber wall give an even soak around a cylindrical or shaft-like charge.
Small footprint, deep chamber
A pit furnace uses floor area rather than headroom, which suits workshops with an overhead crane and limited floor space.
Lid specified for the duty
Manual or hoist-lifted lids, with limit switches and a seal matched to the working temperature.
Specification
Configuration, dimensions and power are set per project.
